I just returned to Canada from the ABA marketing conference in Philadelphia, PA. Great program, I learned a lot. Thank you to all the speakers and organizers. Very insightful and seamless program. Big tips included twitter and blogging. So here I go.
The discussion of lawyer rankings was interesting but seems to be a specifically American phenomenon. Canadian rankings were non-existent on the sights I searched. Perhaps in time rankings will enter the
Canadian profession.
The 10×10 session was also very informative. Marketabiliity of being green and selling bench strength are elements I might incorporate into my practice.
The keynote speakers David Lat (Above the Law) and John Osborn (BBDO) were simply stellar. David on the power of the internet and blogs and John with his affable, grounded and entertaining talk on marketing. Both speakers were generous with the time and answered questions after the session.
Program materials were great as well as the accomadations at the Four Season.
Lawyers interested in marketing should consider attending an ABA Law Practice Management program in the future.
I will attempt to twitter as lawyerllb.

Thanks to all the new friends and colleagues I made over the last few days.
