The Russell Alexander Law Scholarship is now accepting applications from students interested in joining the legal community and studying law. The recipient will receive up to $2,000 for tuition, plus a $500 bonus towards school supplies such as a laptop, printer, or textbooks. Since 2017, the Russell Alexander Law Scholarship has been given each year to offset the high costs of a law education as well as support the legal field in Canada.
The scholarship is open to Canadian students enrolled in post-secondary for the fall semester 2022. Applicants must have a grade average of 80 percent or higher. Along with basic information about their educational record, applicants are asked to submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words on one of two subjects included on the application form. The application must be submitted between March 14 and June 30.
“Going to school can be an expensive proposition,” said founder Russell Alexander. “We hope this scholarship will help reduce the cost of education for a future professional in the legal community. We were all students once, too, and we remember those moments when someone in the legal field was there to help lift us up. This is our chance to pay that back for the next generation.”
