Friday’s Profile: Our Newest Associate Aleksandra


Aleksandra graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2008 with highest distinction, receiving a Bachelor of Social Sciences, Honours, with a specialization in Criminology and minor in Psychology. In 2011, she received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa, before beginning her Articles with the Department of Justice, Canada. After working with the Department of Justice for nearly a year, she was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012 and joined Russell Alexander Family Lawyers.

During law school, Aleksandra completed an internship working in family law at a small Ottawa law firm. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she worked under the supervision of a sole practitioner in family law, and Family Services Ottawa. Aleksandra is fluent in Polish, and enjoys spending her spare time with her family at the cottage, playing tennis, baking and jogging.

We are extremly excited that Aleksandra has joined our team at Russell Alexander, Family Lawyers.

Friday’s Profile: Summer Student Nicole

Nicole Is Back For Another Summer!

Nicole is returning as our summer student working reception in our Brooklin office this year and will be our clients’ first contact. She currently attends the University of Guelph, studying International Development.

She is keen to help clients with any inquiries they may have. Nicole loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading and outdoor sports; she currently plays varsity baseball for her University team.

We are looking forward to working with Nicole for another summer.

Friday’s Profile: Law Clerk Lindsey

We are very pleased to have Lindsey as a new member of our team.  She will be helping family clients out of our Brooklin, Ontario office.

Lindsey is a graduate of Durham College and has 5 years experience in family law. She has a great knowledge of the Family Law Rules, court filings and procedures.

Lindsey is very client focused and has a passion for assisting our clients while keeping in mind their needs. She loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys participating in various 5K marathons, is very active and enjoys baking in her spare time.

Friday’s Profile: Cindy Vergara

We are extremely excited to have Cindy join our team as an Associate Lawyer.  Cindy will be helping serve our clients out of all three of our offices.

In 2007, Cindy graduated with High Distinction from the University of Toronto receiving an Honours Bachelor of Science. She majored in Integrative Biology and Health Studies. Cindy then obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Windsor in 2010 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2011.

Cindy is an active member of the community as a board member for Durham Hospice and a volunteer with the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation. Cindy is fluent in Spanish and she has a working proficiency of French. Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and traveling.

Friday’s Profile: Rita

Rita is a law clerk with our firm and has immense experience in matters involving Real Estate, Wills, Estates Administration and Civil Litigation.

Rita also helps clients manage their trust balances with the firm and may notify clients if they have aging receivables with the firm. Clients enjoy Rita’s attentiveness and caring approach. She is friendly and always helpful.

Friday’s Profile: Senior Law Clerk Gabrielle

Gabrielle assists clients with every aspect of the family law as a legal assistant. She is excellent in preparing court pleadings and financial statements and has a first-rate working knowledge of the new Family Law Rules and court filing procedures.

Gabrielle also has experience in all aspects of litigation support and enjoys a professional working relationship with our clients. Gabrielle has an Honours Degree in English Literature as well as a Diploma in Legal Administration. She is highly active in a historical re-enactment organization which focuses on the Middle Ages.

Friday’s Profile: Lawyer Abi Adeusi

Abi Adeusi is an associate lawyer at our firm practicing exclusively family law. Abi obtained her law degree from the University of Wolverhampton England in 1993. After taking time to start and raise her family she returned to the law profession in 2002 and articled in London with a very busy and dynamic law firm. After enjoying a very successful practice as a Solicitor, Abi moved to Canada in the summer of 2008 with her family.

Abi, was called to the Bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada in June 2010 and started her practice in Southern Ontario with a focus family law. Abi is also licensed to practice Law in England and Wales. Abi’s memberships include Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of England and Wales, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Durham Law Association, the Peterborough Law Association, and Northumberland County Law Association.
