Is your office open or closed the week between christmas and new years?
Many of the smaller firms I know close down for the week between christmas and new years since other law firms they work with are closed and this also gives their staff a nice break.
Certainly the advantages are better moral and happier employees which is always a good thing. But these advantages need to be weighed against lost productivity and not being able to provide for and service our clients.
In the past when our law firm had fewer clients and staff we closed for the week. But given our current client base this year we are staying open to focus on client service and the needs of our clients.
