Our firm is proud to welcome Margie Primero-Pimentel to Russell Alexander Collaborative Family Lawyers. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002 and as an experienced associate lawyer, Margie assists clients who are going through the breakdown of their relationship by providing advice and guidance that is focused on their best interests and needs.
After practicing as a family law litigator for over thirteen years, Margie felt compelled to focus her practice on providing clients with alternative dispute resolution options and as such, she obtained her training to become a certified collaborative family law practitioner as well as certification and accreditation for family mediation. She is passionate about facilitating fair and reasonable settlements for her clients both as a collaborative family law practitioner and as a mediator.
Although her primary approach is to encourage, facilitate and assist her clients with reaching fair and reasonable settlements, she realizes that there are a minority of cases that require the intervention of the Court. Margie has represented clients in court before the Superior Court of Justice, the Unified Family Court and Ontario Court of Justice throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Vaughan/Newmarket, Mississauga/Brampton, Milton, Oshawa, Hamilton, Collingwood and Barrie. She strives to advocate for her clients and to assist them in presenting their case in the most effective and persuasive manner.
Margie believes that, as a family law lawyer, she have a unique opportunity to provide emotionally-intelligent advice to clients that will assist them in moving forward with their lives in a better position. She views each file in a holistic manner, striving to provide her clients with the advice and assistance they need to make the most appropriate and informed decisions for themselves and their children.
Prior to joining Russell Alexander, Margie was an associate at family law firms in downtown Toronto, North York, Vaughan as well as a principal lawyer of her own firm. She has over 18 years’ experience in providing clients with practical and compassionate legal advice and assistance and over 13 years in family law as a litigator, negotiator and mediator.
Margie was born in Manila, Philippines but grew up in Toronto, Ontario, when her family emigrated to Canada when she was 5 years old. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying out new recipes and travelling. Margie also enjoys watching documentaries, crime shows, and horror flicks and reading novels written by her favourite author, Stephen King.
