At your initial legal consultation, you will be asked to provide a background and discuss your short and long term goals. You will then receive advice about your legal options, rights, responsibilities, obligations and the process. The lawyer will then be able to quote an initial retainer required to open your file. You may choose to retain the lawyer that same-day or take time to consider your options—there is no obligation to retain the lawyer.
