Do I Have to File a Financial Statement?

Written by Russell Alexander ria@russellalexander.com / (905) 655-6335

Yes.  You should let your spouse know everything about how much money you make, how much you own as far as property, savings, pensions, etc. and how much you owe as far as mortgages, credit cards, etc. as this information is necessary to figuring out some of the issues of your separation.  You should share this information even if your spouse doesn’t want it and the best way to do that is to fill out and sign a financial statement.
