What Happens After I Hire a Lawyer?

Upon retaining a firm, the next steps will be for you to implement any suggestions your lawyer makes with regards to dealing with your current legal issues and to gather and prepare any requested documentation. If your matter is in litigation, your cooperation and approval will be sought in preparing court materials for your hearing. If your matter is not in litigation, your cooperation and approval will be sought in preparing a separation agreement, or in taking any other step toward achieving your goals.
