Nothing new here really.

 Mrs Doubtfire

After a bitter divorce, an actor disguises himself as a female housekeeper to spend secret time with his children held in custody by his ex.

 Liar Liar

A fast track lawyer can’t lie for 24 hours due to his son’s birthday wish after the lawyer turns his son down for the last time.

 Kramer v. Kramer

A just divorced man must learn to care for his son on his own, and then must fight in court to keep custody of him.

A good example of the tender years doctrine of the 70’s and the alienating affect it had on fathers.  Also another story of a workaholic executive father losing custody of his son.  A pattern for Hollywood movie makers.

IMBd’s Rating: 7.7

 War of the Roses

A married couple try everything to get each other to leave the house in a vicious divorce battle.

Really a story of our adversarial court system gone wild.  These people should have tried collaborative practice.
